Simple Smart Radio Player ("the App") is designed with your privacy as a top priority. We believe in transparency and want you to understand exactly how the App interacts with your data.

Data We Collect
We do not collect any personal data.
The App does not:
- Create or require user accounts
- Collect names, email addresses, or contact information
- Track your location
- Use analytics or tracking tools
- Share data with third parties
- Use cookies or similar tracking technologies
Local Data Storage
The App stores a small amount of data locally on your device to provide its core functionality:
- Favorite stations — Your saved radio stations are stored locally in the app's private storage
- Language preference — Your selected interface language
- Theme color — Your chosen accent color preference
- Last played station — To resume playback quickly
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party. If you delete the App, all locally stored data is permanently removed.
Network Access
The App requires access to your local Wi-Fi network to communicate with your Sonos speakers. This is essential for:
- Discovering Sonos speakers on your network
- Sending playback commands (play, pause, volume control)
- Managing speaker zones and grouping
The App communicates directly with your Sonos speakers over your local network. No data is sent to external servers operated by us.
Radio Station Search
When you search for radio stations, the App queries our catalog service at simplesmartradio.com. Only your search query is sent — no personal identifiers.
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The App does not require any personal information to function.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
Website hosting (this site only)
This privacy notice covers the iOS app. The marketing website you are reading runs on Cloudflare Pages with a Cloudflare Pages middleware we wrote ourselves. Cloudflare logs every HTTP request at the edge (visitor IP, user-agent, URL, timestamp) for security, caching, and abuse prevention. In addition, our middleware records each request to a private Elasticsearch index for debugging and abuse-detection: timestamp, IP address, country/region/city (Cloudflare GeoIP, city-level), ASN/ISP, HTTP method and URL, referer, user-agent, browser language, TLS/HTTP protocol, response status, response time, and CF cache status. Records are deleted automatically after 30 days. We do not log request bodies, cookies, or form input. The legal basis is legitimate interest under GDPR Art. 6(1)(f), governed by Cloudflare's Data Processing Agreement. The browser may also send network-error reports to Cloudflare's NEL endpoint (failures only). We embed no analytics or third-party trackers, set no cookies, and self-host all fonts and icons — no requests to Google or other CDNs are made when you load this page. To request deletion of records relating to your IP, email privacy@simplesmartcompany.com.
Your rights
If you are an EEA/UK visitor you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data related to you. Because the App does not create accounts or collect personal data, in practice this reduces to verifying what is stored locally on your device (inspect via iOS Settings → Simple Smart Radio Player → Storage) and requesting confirmation from us. Write to privacy@simplesmartcompany.com with any request.
Companion web service
This policy covers the iOS app only. The app's catalog backend runs at simplesmartradio.com, which has its own privacy policy covering web-visitor data (different scope — the web site may show ads, the iOS app does not).
